HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINZY!!!!!

If I am not mistaken, Linzy Livingston Ore is turning another year older Saturday! We want to wish you a Happy Happy Birthday and know we are thinking of & missing you!

Blue 43, Blue 43

Guess what was happening at 6:30 tonight in Greenwood? Blue vs White football game! Dustin was #43 and I am embarrassed to say that I cannot remember the score. Lorin went to the lake with a friend for the weekend, Kaleigh is with her mom, so Jaylin, James and I went to watch Dustin play. I tried to get Jaylin to hold up the ticket so everyone could see it. The ticket got you a hamburger, chips and a drink. Thank goodness for a beautiful afternoon!

Show us Where You Live Friday--Dinning Room

I was not able to participate in Kelly's last friday's "Show Us Where You Live Friday" due to to the fact that I do not have a guest room, but thank goodness I do have a dinning room! Where else would you feed our family!?!

This is the view as you walk into the kitchen/dinning room from the living room. This Friday is an "as is" day for me, you will see dust on the wine cooler, things on the counter, etc. Keeping it real for you! The brown picture frame with black inside of it is a chalk board I made with sheet metal and a $26.00 clearance frame from Hobby Lobby.

This is the view as you come in from the klitchen and hallway from the garage-I tried two different shots for better clarity. The table is from Woodco and we love it! Right now the leaf is in the middle, but we normally keep it out. You probably cannot tell that it is the same stain as the cabinents with black legs and the chairs, from Woodco also, are black.

This is the door to the backporch/backyard/pool. The old cooking utincils are from an antique store and none of them cost over $2.00. The wine cooler that sits to the right of the door. I love the stuff on top of it--the colors of the kitchen/dinning room are brown & green with that mustard color on the walls. Not crazy about the wall color, considering changing it. What do you think? The past color in this area were red, the mustard wall color and green, but I was tired of them and changed just recently to this.

The pictures are of some things in the Dinning Room/Kitchen to show the color pallete. The awesome apothocary jar I found at Fred's for $12.00!!! and the pears that are inside of it came free!!!

This is a view from the dinning room looking toward the kitchen. I included due to the bar area where the kids sit and eat. This gives you a better idea of the color of the table and chairs as the bar and bar stools mimic them. The "K" in the green yard sale picture frame is from an idea I got from super crafty Nicole at The Graves' House, the bird in the cheese platter dome thing I also got off a blog, but I cannot remember for the life of me. If you reconize it as your idea, let me know and I would love to give you credit--so sorry for my pre-alzheimers!

Another picture of the grouping on top of the wine cooler-closer up. This is what hangs above the "K" picture on the bar. My husband loves Elvis and his mother had found these collector cards-kind of like baseball cards, at an antique place in Florida and I got them framed for the love of my life! That is the tour! We hope you have a wonderful & safe Memorial Day weekend!

Rapunzel?

Well maybe not Rapunzel, but it is getting longer and curlier--here are a couple of hair shots. Right after she has a bath it is very curly. The husband said it reminds him of his mom's hair and wanted me to post this for her to see what we have been describing via phone!

The BABY is 16 months old!

From this 8 day old sweet little bundle of cuddleness....

Wait for it..........build the anticipation...work the audience...

Now....flash the smile....Tada....To this never slows down toddler!

It is hard to believe that the littlest is 16 months old! I should have done this monthly like I have seen so many doing, but better late than never! By the way as you can tell she did not want to sit still long enough for these pictures. Thank goodness for the help from her oldest sister L. I am so thankful to my husband for being able to stay home with her--he will never know how much I truly appreciate such a wonderful gesture! With bittersweet memories of her as a newborn, I post this for all to see!

She is officially 10 years old!

As of 12 May, 2009, K is 10 years old! Hard to believe that she is on the brink of being a teenager! K asked me if this makes her a pre-teen? I did not even like to hear her confirm she is in such a hurry to grow up--but all are. I can certainly remember the days seeming to go by so slow when I was her age. What we would not do for time to move so slow now! In answer to her question, I told her at 13 she would be a preteen, that maybe at 10 she is a tween?!? Not sure! She is so excited to be in the double digits. We had a nice get together, just family. K had a big party last Saturday--lucky girl 2 parties a year! We hope that she enjoyed it!

He is Bringing Sexy Back With a Vengence!

I know ladies, I am so fortunate that I have such a fashion conscious husband-- This is the outfit of choice when one is working hard in the garage and outside on a rainy overcast weekend. Just had to snap a picture of my ever sexy husband bringing on the appeal with this ensemble! Too bad you cannot see the the safety glasses in one of the above picture, but that would have probably put each of you right over the edge with jealousy!

Mother's

1st off Happy Mother's Day to all! Second, hopefully you had better weather! I am thankful for my children--even though they can drive me crazy sometimes, I am not sure what kind of person, woman, etc, I would be had it not been for each of you! I am glad of the opportunity to be able to say I am a mother--I know so many who do not have that honor yet and I pray for you. For all, I hope that you were able to spend a little time with your mother, I was and was so thankful--it was a wonderful evening--the baby was even good! I realize that I take my mom for granted--I should do more to show my appreciation for all that she did, does, and will do. I truly hope I have let her know how much I love her and respect her. I am wonderfully blessed in that not only do I have a great mother, but my mother in law is a wonderful lady too! She has been such a blessing to me since I met her son--and if it weren't for her I would not have the pleasure of being married to such a amazing husband! Thanks and much love to both today and always!

Show Us Where you Live Friday - LIVING ROOMS

I have had the best time with this tour that Kelly is hosting--this is a wonderful plan for the deco idea thief, nosey at heart, showoff, etc! I have so much fun in going to each post and looking. Some of you are young, just starting out and have not had the time/money/desire to accumulate all of the junk the rest of us have over the years and it makes me remember what is was like to try to decorate your home with so little--very humbling and make me appreciate where I am now in life! I missed the kitchen Friday--I will try to post that later to catch up! As for now, come on in to our humble home, and as a sign behind my front door says, "Welcome, be warm, be welcome, be at home" For those of you who know me, you will realize I recently changed the colors to our living room--we went from red, gold, green, brown to blue and brown.

Do you see the sign behind the door? Halmark store purchase--$10 i think, then you can start to see the sofa table to the right of the door--cannot use behind the loveseat due to the fact that it is a reclining set. Below is a better pic of the sofa table. Sorry about the lighting on the lower picture--kinda of dark.

You can start to see the pillar in the center of the room. Hubby hates it and I kinda of like it.

this is the view as you walk into the living room from the front door.

The is the view as you look at the built in that was intended for the tv, but as you can see, the hubster wants the super big tv, so I have closed it-gotta do something about that cable thing hanging out at the bottom. Then the second pic is of the loveseat, hubster's recliner (sorry the pillow is turned the wrong way! by the way I call his recliner the widowmaker) and the front door and bar--this is all in the place of where the formal dinning room would be--hence large hanging light fixture. That is the family dog making his appearance--cute huh? He is a Shorky.

doorway (I like that they are rounded) leading to the kitchen and this is the wall with the sofa family pictures, the other rounded doorway to the right of the sofa leads to the hallway/kitchen/garage, etc.

This is the part of the living room that is where we put the desk and bar. That is the living room--hoped you enjoyed it! You can click on each picture for a better view. You can see the really cool bell jar my Mom gave me along with a couple of other items I used to decorate with for Easter. Family cat Sassy sleeping on a pillow that I plan to take to Goodwill if I can get her off of it!

I'm Back!

After a sabbatical, I am back and will be posting, or try to, post regularly!!! I know, Kelli, I told you this weeks ago, but I really mean it this time. Sorry for the lack of posting, took a break to try and catch up on things--some happened, some did not. Stand by for pictures (I have been told a few of you are tired of looking at the "K" flag) and posts on what has happened since or during the break. Hope all are having a wonderful weekend! In Arkansas we are getting our fill of rain, dreary overcast days--we so will be wishing for this rain about July!
